Rules of writing essays

First of all, to write your creation, you have to decide on the theme. In school years, teachers themselves set the theme for the essays, it was necessary to describe the main character of the literary work and his attitude to a particular situation. At school we always wrote the word “theme”, and only then we started to write. It is worth noting that the topics at school were very complex, somewhere we had to write about the story and disclose our understanding of the characters, how they work and what goals they pursue, even an adult sometimes difficult to write such a work. For example, it was necessary to prove whether the author was right in the work and what events in the story most affected the plot. It is advisable to change the title of the topic a little to make it easier to write. Also, in the composition should not use all the literary expressions, you can write in simple language, and most importantly – to reveal the topic to the end.

How to write an essay correctly (a few simple rules)

Second, once the topic has been defined, the basic idea of the essay should be defined. This means that you will reveal a thought in the subject in detail, and write based on it, somewhere you will agree with it, and somewhere you will say that it contradicts your idea. If you’re writing about a piece of work, you have to argue your point of view. That is, write a thought, and then write down a passage from an author’s story in quotes.

Choosing material from a large prosaic work is very difficult. Therefore, when you read a story, immediately mark interesting quotes, and especially – if you are familiar with the subject, the selection of quotes will be very easy. Don’t count on your memory, you can forget everything, so write every interesting passage in your notebook to use it in your essay. When you write quotes, be careful not to make punctuation or spelling mistakes (a punctuation error can change the meaning of a statement, which is very dangerous).

The final step is to build a logical chain of statements. Somehow it is similar to the investigation of a detective, you need to present evidence, of course, you have them in the form of arguments. You will have to get rid of many arguments, because they may not be useful. Together with them, get rid of references and quotes. If the arguments are not enough, flip through the book again and pick up the missing ones. It is desirable to have seven arguments, this will be enough for you. But remember that the minimum number of arguments – four, you should not fall below this figure.

There is no need to push into the composition of a huge number of arguments, it will only spoil the impression of it and create the impression that instead of you thought the authors of these quotes, be brief. Next, we will describe the law of composition of a literary work, so that you understand in what order to arrange the arguments. It is advisable to structure the arguments according to the following scheme – first, there are arguments with low priority, and then strong arguments with high priority.
